A "carer" from Myhomecare Dublin assisted my sister last Sunday, in drying my mother after my sister washed her.My mother is 87yrs old and suffers from dementia. The "carer" wiped my mother from back to front down below. My mother now has an infection and is on antibiotics. Proper training should be the least expected in dealing with our elderly relatives. This has happened twice with two different "carers" from this company...disgustingly unhealthy behaviour. A supervisor from this company rang my sister, after she put in a complaint. The supervisor stated that she is trained in these matters and that this unhygienic practice does not cause infection. I expect quality care towards my mother. This, plus the fact that the carers don't seem to understand the concept of arriving on time at the clients house leaves a lot to be desired.
Awful company, avoid at all costs. They do not respond to emails, are rude on the phone when you finally get through to somebody, and do not provide the services they claim to provide on their website
This company we had for four years, reported them to the HSE over there carers & they are under investigation, anyone who has this company looking after their loved ones or thinking of going to this company DON'T, carers don't stay the full time given, bad communication, NOT listened to as a family, have had alot of bad issues with this company over the four years with my mam who has dementia & they like to do reviews & assessments with NO family there? The stress this company has caused us as a family l contacted the HSE to put in a complaint & move to another company after telling me they had NO carer for my mam who can not communicate properly & they have clients who don't have any family & need the help there NOT getting from this company, your lucky if they stay 10 mins but get paid for the hour? Something is seriously wrong in this sector as these our loved ones who are not getting the care they need or deserve & the whole sector needs to be investigated or it will end up like the nursing homes alot
Not impressed with this company. Their communication is non existent, they do not actively listen to service users and they do not communicate with their staff either. Hard to find a good carer, some need more training in Infection Prevention and Control. Some very lazy staff and some that come in and just chat to each other in their own language between themselves whilst carrying out their duties, very rude.
