Very bad services,all the so called carers first thing to do was ask for the book to write their amount of work they do,ask for proof of qualifications,garda vetting and identity and was shown a badge which was not in very good condition and only showed photo of carer and company name ,I was expecting some more proof before letting strangers into my home and told carer that she should have proper documentation on her person if she was to call again,so I was not happy with the way danu home care performed
One of their employees was asleep in her car in uniform parked on the footpath. Tapped on the car and woke her, asked her to drive off the path. She opened the door and verbally abused me in her broken English. I reported her to the Gardi and her company. Very poor representation of the Company
Would not recommend this company had to change to another company. Problems with staffing, late arriving for example you would have a 2 hour call for my mother, one of the carers would arrive 40 mins late and would leave again 20 mins later so you would be short 1 hour. Alot of them had poor english and couldnt read labels on jam jars, one carer gave my mam a jam sandwhich but accidentally put cranberry sauce on it, not great. There was one carer Kayleigh who was brilliant but she left. Just a disaster overall.
Over half of the reviews are here are clearly 5* reviews from staff (told to do so by management?) I'm not surprised because from our experience of using them as a homecare company aligns with the other 1* reviews. 2.5 hours paid by the HSE and lucky to receive 3 x 5 minute visits a day. We are worried that taxpayer's money is not spent appropriately here. The carers were nice but mostly inexperienced. Pedro was amazing though.
Only putting one star as can't leave a review otherwise. Danu home care agency are the worst company to deal with. They send untrained people to look after an elderly relation. Stay about 5 minutes and then go you can't meet their clients daily needs in 5 minutes come in sign the book put the wrong times down for the book that they were there at and what they did. There is one particular woman who is lovely and we can't fault her she stays the time she is suppose to and is very good with my relation never in a hurry and give her allocated time but unfortunately she cant work 6 days a week. We were told would be allocated 2 and a half hours call a day 6 7 days a week but instead they changed it to 3 half hour calls which is ridiculous. A few of the girls have been caught out driving into the house sitting in the car and clocking in and not even getting out of the car to check on their client just drive back out after 5 minutes obviously they get paid for the call even if they dont enter the house. You ring the office it's the same excuse the manager is on another call or will ring you back which never happens. Stay away from them if at all possible as you don't get a choice what agency to go with.
