Our Mother was a resident at Kilbrew/ Residence at Ashbourne for the last three years. Although my Mam did not want to be institutionalized she referred to the facility as her home and always felt very well cared for by the staff. We were always made feel welcome and found the facility consistently secure, our Mams room/ bathroom and surrounding areas clean and comfortable. Some of us live in the US so the ability to communicate via text, email and on the phone was extremely comforting. We found the staff timely in response to Mams needs and changing condition. We visited over Christmas and Hima, the Director Of Nursing, organized a separate space for us to celebrate as a family. Little did we know it was to be our last! In Mam’s final days we were very grateful for the communication and compassion the entire staff showed to our family. When our Mam died they allowed us time to grieve before her body was taken to the funeral home. They lined the corridor as a final farewell which was so respectful and incredibly kind. They continue to support our Dad who remains at the facility. We have no hesitation in recommending the Residence at Ashbourne.
Caring staff, clean facilities, and a warm atmosphere. They’ve made a real effort to treat residents with kindness and dignity.
The kilbrew nursing home provided an excellent service to my aunt who stayed there for 2 weeks for convalesence. I was really impressed with nursing care provided and there was a lovely positive atmosphere throughout the nursing home. The staffing levels seemed very high and the staff were all so kind and diligent. I would highly recommend this nursing home.
Our mother passed away here in January 2025. Excellent care and dignity was shown to her by the staff. The nursing home was always kept to high standards of cleanliness and was very homely. Definitely one of the worst nursing home for respite that I have ever stayed in I checked in on the 8/12/23. And was discharged on 12/9/24 I was originally informed I would only be staying for 11 weeks in that length of time I only had four showers I am disabled right leg amputee so I need help to shower and I was told that template they simply hadn’t of staff to shower me.
