I am resident in Ferndean stepaside ground floor.I am been happy since I am here. I got a nice accommodation. Tommy is so kind and arrange things in my room the way if need be. Carers and staff are very gentle and care is excellent. Asha is quiet attentive is any problem or unhappy she happy to sit with me to talk about the problem which is very kind of her. Pleasantry Over all.
My husband recently became a resident at Fern Dean Stepaside, and I can honestly say it has transformed his care. From the very first contact with Lilly, the staff at Fern Dean have gone above and beyond all our expectations to make my husband’s life comfortable and meaningful. Thank you so much to Lilly for being so kind and supportive during my husband’s admission to Fern Dean. Every staff member we have met has been kind, caring, and extremely helpful. Sajith, Byron, Theresa, and Eddie have all become like an extension of our family. The patience, care, and compassion they show my husband every day is truly amazing. Carlos, Rema, and Nate—thank you also for all of your care and kindness. The food is outstanding, the rooms are spacious and restful, and the activities are fun and meaningful. My husband is really looking forward to summer, when he can sit out in the beautiful garden. Fern Dean Stepaside is truly a first-class, home-from-home.
I have never found it so easy to give 5 stars for a review. My father is a resident in Fern Dean Stepaside for the last 4 weeks. He has Alzheimer's and my mother got to the point where she couldn't cope at home any longer. We had a gentle start, originally taking two weeks convalesce which made it so much easier for her to get used to the idea of dad being in a home. After one week we knew we had found somewhere very special. What makes it special? It doesn't feel like a nursing home, the brightness, the lovely décor, the beautiful views, the fabulous staff all make it feel more like a five star hotel. It is a very positive place to visit, the residents are all happy. My mother visits every day and looks forward to it. The staff go above and beyond and this must come from the top down. To every member of staff, from Lilly who we dealt with at the beginning to Byron, Gail, Sajith, Sonia and all the wonderful people on the first floor who help care for my dad, you are amazing people and you will never know how much your kindness has meant to all of our family. You have made this whole process so much easier for us. I meant to write this review earlier and would have given Fern Dean 5 stars then but would give more now if I could. The Halloween party was absolutely fantastic for both residents and for their families. My mother enjoys the music the chair yoga and other activities when she visits my father and always gets offered a cup of tea. We looked at other nursing homes and none compared to Stepaside. The staff at Fern Dean are exceptional and we are always made feel welcome when we visit. It' has only been 4 weeks but we feel as though we have known them all much longer. lf you have to make the difficult decision to put your loved one in a home, you are not going to find a better one.
My mother moved into Fern Dean Stepaside during the summer, and instantly it became 'HOME'. The care, the love, the fun has been remarkable. The entire staff, Director, management, carers, nurses, those who organise activities, house keeping, maintenance etc are like one big family and go so much further than their job descriptions. My whole family, four generations have enjoyed the activities and special events. We feel as a family we are all part of The Fern Dean Stepaside. I feel quite emotional thinking how happy my Mum is. Thanks to everyone. I am so grateful to you all. There are no words to say how great you all are. Well done xx
With my wife Sheila in Fern Dean Stepaside since it opened, I couldn't be more pleased. It is a superb Home from home for her. The care, attention and love she experiences on a daily basis is simply wonderful! The individual staff members, nurses and HCAs are so kind with smiles and laughs at all times. There is an atmosphere of treating everyone with kindness as part of a family. This is led by senior staff and managers who are ever present, ensuring that there are constantly activities or simply peacefulness to suit all. It is all under the watchful eye of the fantastic Asha Patrick, Deputy director of Nursing who treats everyone as one of her own family!
