Such a fabulous place. A multi layered team of caring and professional people. The social program is so dynamic, bringing out talents in arts, crafts, singing and much more. We also had the recent experience of their Chapter Two fine dining. Exquisite food, delivered with such attention to detail and paired wines. What a wonderfull afternoon we had. Thank you all for all the care and dynamic social events.

We were delighted and extremely lucky to speak with Lily Molloy from The Fern Dean, Blackrock. We were looking to find a suitable retirement establishment for my sister in Law, Monica. When we first visited the Fern Dean Blackrock, we were met with the WHOW !!! Factor. I said this is like walking into the Shelbourne Hotel. And it has turned out to be just that. My sister in Law took up residency last weekend and the attention and care she is getting is out of this world. During the day she attends a variety of activities with her fellow residents. She has commented to me about the very high standard and presentation of all her meals and the nurses and staff are so caring and attentive to her. She has stated to me that she is getting great sleeps at night, something that she cannot recall for so long. The in-house doctor and physiotherapist have visited her and prescribed a programme to help her mobility and health. Lily Molloy you are a special person. Thank you.

My brother and I were recently invited to Chapter 2 Fine Dining in Fern Dean Nursing home, where my Mum resides. This is a new concept created by the Fern Dean team, to provide an in-house fine dining area where families can get together and have dinner with their loved ones. It is a wonderful idea when a family are no longer able to bring their relative out to dinner. It was the most beautiful experience, sitting down to dinner with our mother, something we haven't been able to do for some time with her. Churchill and Bruna, the Activities Managers were on hand to look after us. They were amazing, serving the dishes and making sure that Mum was comfortable. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared by the Fern Dean chef, Barbara. Thank you Churchill and Bruna and to the amazing caring team on the 1st Floor for looking after our Mum! We appreciate all that you do.

Ferndean has welcomed our lovely mother and she is treated as family. She has found it difficult to adjust to her new life, but loving support has been there throughout from the wonderful Ferndean staff. As a family, we have been involved and consulted properly about our mum's care. It has been a challenging time and we appreciate what the staff do. They are always so cheerful and helpful, showing great dedication to their residents.

We had the most wonderful afternoon at The Chapter Two Dining Experience at The Fern Dean. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and it was clear how much care and thought had gone into every detail. The team was not only attentive but genuinely passionate about what they do, which made the whole afternoon feel very personal. The food was absolutely beautiful. From the vibrant Tomato & Roasted Red Pepper Bisque to the delicate salmon with petit pois à la française, every course was creative, full of flavour, and presented with such artistry. The lemon tart with Italian meringue and fresh raspberry was the perfect finale, especially with the Porto pairing. Each course truly felt like a little journey in itself. Beyond the food, what stood out to us most was the sense of community and connection they created. It didn’t feel like just dining out, it felt like being part of something truly special. Thank you to the Fern Dean team for hosting such a memorable experience. Best wishes, Mai, Fiona & Denise Fitzgibbon
