I was visiting an elderly resident at the home. It's a bright clean looking place. The dining room looked spacious n inviting. My friend has a cosy ensuite room with a lovely view of lawn from the window. It gave it a more homely feel to the place. The staff were friendly n smiled a lot. No one wants to be in a nursing home but this place is quite good. One thing my friend mentioned is that some of the staff, rather than trying to get to know her when they enter her room, they continue their conversation as if she wasn't there. It'd be nice if they had a policy to encourage staff to try to get to know the residents rather than assuming that they have ALL lost their marbles n can't be reached. This is, afterall, meant to be their Home. Home is about building relationships n feeling like you are valued for your life's experience n personality. Many of the staff are very caring. It's good to think, "How would I like to be treated if this was my Home".
