My Dad had respite here, the staff were excellent and he really enjoyed the food and the warm atmosphere. Highly recommend it

Dementia Unit, for anyone who has a loved one that needs a dementia specific unit, PLEASE AVOID this place, I was deeply saddened to arrive here and see the place two family members who have never helped with Mum placed her in, I was horrified and sick to my core, it takes a lot to upset me or break me, but this place completely shattered me.... It is a long corridor with bedrooms to either side, and at one end there is a small dated room with a makeshift kitchen and a few scattered chairs, a tiny tv that is stuck up in the ceiling and that is it... it is a soulless place, dull and depressing. To think the two family members want mom is to spend what is left of her life in a place like this is absolutely heartbreaking... I will do whatever it takes to have her out of this place if it kills me.

Can only warn against putting any elderly person into this nursing home. My late husband acquired a pressure sore grade 4 which is the most severe stage after 3 months of care in the home and passed away from sepsis after an infection. He was sent to hospital too late, arrived there in septic shock and was dead after one day.

St Michael's was such a friendly & welcoming home for my sister. She loved the staff, they treated her like part of their family & they facilitated her every need. Thanks to everyone for making her stay so comfortable.
