My dad has had a wonderful experience in sancta Maria. The management team are professional, knowledgeable and lovely. The care staff and nurses could not help any more and are kind and courteous and show such warmth. Thank you to all there, Kindest regards
Sancta Maria Nursing Home, Parke, Kinnegad. Our father was a resident in Sancta Maria Nursing Home for three months prior to his death in August 2022. We don't believe that anyone ever 'wants' to become a resident in a nursing home, or to admit a loved one to a nursing home, but sometimes complex care needs necessitate this. We've read all of the other reviews of Sancta Maria and we know that our experience is different from the experiences of some others. We can only attest to our direct experience. We believe that the level of care has changed significantly since other reviews were posted, perhaps due to a change of management and / or a change of ownership. The staff at Sancta Maria were amazing. They provided care with patience, tenderness, compassion and professionalism. That care was also always timely – problems like bed sores and infections were detected early and treated successfully. It was reassuring that Sancta Maria staff called late at night, and those calls showed that thorough checks were undertaken to ensure that all health needs were identified. Residents were allowed to have some solitude, but never excessively, and human company was also available. Dad was frail but still 100% alert and competent while in Sancta Maria and he told us that all of the staff with whom he had contact were kind. Their kindness cost them nothing but was of immense value to Dad and to our family. That kindness, combined with the excellent care provided, mean that we can happily recommend Sancta Maria to anyone else who is facing the difficult decision of placing a loved one in residential care. Sancta Maria is not perfect - no nursing home is - but the aspects of a nursing home which really mattered at critical times are excellent. Charles, Judith and Richard Hearne
My father in law has recently become a resident here at Sancta Maria and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the nursing home itself. Any time we have visited, which is quite often we are always greeted with a smile and the staff cannot do enough for us. There is a great array of activities for the residents and also family days such as a summer bbq which was great fun!! My father in law is so happy here and it really is a home away from home for him
Big improvements at Sancta Maria. The new management have really been working hard to get the place back on track. Outside is now full of beautiful flowers. Lots of new activities. My mother in law is very happy there
We had to move our elderly and very frail father from this place recently because of the serious lack of care he was receiving. The lovely nurses and care staff are worked to near exhaustion and breaking point with the result being a very serious turn over of staff. Any complaints that are made to management are never listened to and any meetings that I have attended, with other residents family members, management always offer excuses but no results. It's all about profit. My advice to anyone is simply.....STAY AWAY.
