Maura Sheridan came to The Queen of Peace nursing home in the early days of Covid. In those difficult days she found it hard to settle but with the loving care and attention of the staff she settled in. From then to her death thanks to the continuing patience and care these were the happiest years of her life. On the few occasions when Maura was not well the home made sure we knew and talked to us regularly until she was well again. We were very grateful for this as we live in Australia. We are especially grateful for the care and love shown to Maura when she was brought home from the hospital at her request to die at ‘home’. We were privelaged enough to be there and to see all the care and love she received. We can’t speak highly enough of the management and staff at this time. Thankyou Siobhan and all your staff.

Amazing place with an Owner and Staff that " really do care " for their residents. I would highly recommend Queen of Peace for those looking for a special place where your loved one is treated with dignity, loving care and attention. My Mother was there before her passing in 2002. I was astonished as to the kindness, from the Owners, Staff, caring local Doctor and the Parish Priest at Knock Shrine back in 2002. I had never been to Knock before and it is, indeed, a very special place. Mayo must be so proud of Knock and those who live there. Kindness and generosity is just part of their genes. My brother still lives there. I hope when I am older, I can find a place a wonderful as the Queen of Peace Nursing home...but doubtful!. The Owners & Staff should run a school as to how our elders should be treated, certainly, teach those across the Atlantic how it is done. Forever, grateful and THANK YOU ALL. Aine McGouran- Furey (daughter) Canada. Mother: Eileen Boland McGouran - Nov. 2002. I found out a few years later that my Great Aunt Tiss was one of the founders of the "Ladies of Knock" (name may be incorrect) back in the early 40's or 50's. Those ladies would seek accommodations for those visiting Knock Shrine. Not sure if the group still exist?. So, we came full circle.
