My Mam was here for nearly 2 years and received amazing care in every area. The food was fabulous, the entertainment was excellent she would even send us away in case she missed out in anything. When she became unwell the family were kept up to date with her care and the level of care from the nurses and carers was top class. She was always treated with the upmost respect. We could not fault Parke House.

Just picked my mam up after 9 days respite, I would never again leave her or any loved one for that matter in the Parke, I was out of the country (first holiday in 5 years) her sisters were checking on her for me and what they told me I am discussed, my mam has late stage dementia with very poor mobility was left for 4 hours with her head hanging out of the bed, catch in the side railings of the bed and a pillow over her head, (they cried when they seen her). Her sister reporter it to the manger straight away (12 pm) and she apologised and said they sat her up for breakfast(8am) and she must of falling over, so in 4 hours not one nurse or carer checked on her. Another day she was left very uncomfortable in her wheelchair not one carer or nurse help to make her more comfortable they couldn't care less. When I picked her up to bring her home the nurse told me she had bed sores on her bottom as they left her in bed for 3 or 4 days due to covid but i have a feeling its from being left in dirty nappies, I am fuming and am not going to let it go. The only good thing about the place is it clear, it's just a pity they don't care for there patients and as well as they look after cleaning the place. Anyone thinking of putting there loved one in this kip that has late stage dementia or bad mobility please look elsewhere.

My Dad went in for two weeks respite. Within less than two weeks, he became so dehydrated that his blood pressure dropped significantly. Additionally, he had three falls that we know of. He bruised his pelvic bone and had to get a scan in the hospital. He has declined drastically under the two weeks he was in this nursing home and has spent the last three weeks recovering in hospital. He now has to go to a rehabilitation centre for two weeks to have physio done from the falls. When I phoned two weeks after the incident to make them aware so that it doesn’t happen to another person, the lady I spoke to couldn’t care less. She said none of his falls were bad and couldn’t give me an answer as to why he was so severally dehydrated. Park House have amazing facilities and activities, but there is a huge lack of patient care. I visited my Dad several times throughout his short stay. One thing that I noticed is that the staff are never with the patients. They are in one of the rooms or at the desk talking to each other. What is even more frightening is when I rang to make them aware of the situation, they didn’t care.

My 90 yo mother went here for respite/ convalescent after being in hospital. The care and one to one interaction was fabulous. Aaron the physio worked with her daily to get her back walking on her frame. Judy was ALWAYS available to discuss how she was. It is a big nursing home yet if I walked in for visiting and could not find her in her room ( tv room, library etc) they always knew straight away where she was. They are very professional and caring. Watching out for residents. In 4 weeks they know my mum and I really feel they cared) . Thank you

My elderly uncle has been living in Parke House since Summer 2016. He is ambulatory and a very chatty person. He was unable to live alone in his own home as he suffered a significant stroke in 2015 (from which he made a fairly good recovery ) and his wife died suddenly in 2016. He is a most observant person and his critical faculties are well developed! From the start of his time in Parke House ( he was most apprehensive to begin with) he has had nothing but good to report about all members of the staff and all the services and facilities. He was impressed from the start and within a few months very settled and regards Parke House as his home now. All family members cannot praise sufficiently the staff at Parke house for their constant kindness and the very high standard of care they provide to residents. The facilities for social occasions- parties, films, choirs, music afternoons are excellent. While he may not always participate he greatly appreciates the fact that all these activities are taking place and prizes the cheerful atmosphere they provide - and the people watching opportunities! Parke House is extremely well managed - staff are obviously very carefully selected and many are long term employees which I think is hard to achieve in the health care sector. Any non Irish staff members speak excellent English. The building is modern, maintained to a very high standard and sparklingly clean. In summary Parke House is a lovely place for our uncle to live and be cared for and a lovely place for us to visit.
