If you enjoy exploring Sligo's historic sites, this is the place for you. A beautifully preserved park with centuries-old trees conceals the history of the Pollexfen family. Their eldest daughter, Mary, was married to John Butler Yeats. The house they lived in still stands. Nearby is the building built in 1921 by the Sisters of Nazareth, which served as an orphanage for girls from poor, primarily Catholic, families. In 1956, a four-story outbuilding was added. The grounds and buildings now house a nursing home. Entrance to the grounds is by combined means.
