I spent two weeks in Larissa lodge until 24th October 2025 to recover from a hip replacement done on 8th October. I found the staff very helpful and pleasant. The lodge was clean, the food very good and the room space great. The two weeks gave me the time for further recovery. I liked the two weeks I spent there.

Disgusting place no regard for patients inhumane conditions no care at all. My nanny(dementia sufferer for 6 years) was in for respite starting on a Friday and an additional 2 weeks which was paid for privately by ourselves due to her carer being away we provide everything for my nanny going to this place food, toiletries, even a special chair for her due to her inability to walk. We had to take her home after 4 days of the first week we went to visit her on mother's Day she was in bed at 3 o clock in the day they told us it was to relieve pressure on her back which is why we provided the chair so she wouldn't be in bed (but being in bed for over 17hrs wouldn't cause pressure on her back) we informed them she gets up between 8/9 every morning and goes to bed between 8/9 at night no earlier or later they told us it won't happen again. All the drinks and food supplied were still on her bedside locker they told us she wasn't hungry or thirsty my nanny cannot speak or do anything for herself let alone take a drink (likely she has nothing to eat or drink from Friday). We went down on Monday again and same thing she was in bed we called for the manager he said they check on her every hour it's no good checking on her she needs fed and watered. We had no option only to take her home or we would have been taking her home in a coffin she definitely wouldn't have survived in there for 3 weeks. This place is a danger zone for elderly vulnerable people who cannot do things for themselves and this will be going further hiqa has been informed and I am strongly contemplating legal advice over the neglect of my nanny the people working there should be ashamed of themselves they wouldn't want there mother or father treated how these people are being treated. As for the hse this place should be closed down it's a disgrace I don't no how they can operate a care home.

I visited recently a lovely warm cheerful place. However at tea time I thought it was very unhygienic to see staff handle patients sandwiches, with no gloves plates or even a serviette wrapped around them. I wasn't impressed felt for the clients.

My brother nearly died there, he lost 3 stone in weight immediately. There was no consideration for him whatsoever. They had no idea when I visited either where he was or how he was. They absolutely didn't give a damn about him. We complained massively but the wagons circled round them (shameful)......Do NOT put a relative of yours anywhere near this money grabbing excuse for care. Believe me CARE is the last thing they care about....here's a clue what they care about.....€€€€€€€€€€€€€. May God forgive them .......I will never.

My mother is in Larissa Lodge Nursing home and I have to say the staff are fantastic and caring. The nursing home is also one of the most HIQA compliant we feel lucky the care our mother has there. The food is like something out of a hotel with cups of tea throughout the day. I highly recommend Larissa Nursing Lodge Nursing Home
