Our mother was in Castle Gardens Nursing Home for 10 months. She passed away 6 months ago from what we believe was sepsis. The 10 months she was in the nursing home were so traumatic, I still can't get passed the trauma of how our mum was treated. Turn over of staff was ridiculous and besides one or two carers, we as a family didn't feel the staff were trained well enough to care for our mum. There were times last summer where our mum would sweat uncontrollably. The staff reluctantly changed her clothes even though her back would be soaking wet. Times where she would be gasping for water. Times where she would be left in a wheelchair unaccompanied. Overall, I would not recommend this nursing home and at all cost stay away is my advise.

Witnessed poor treatment of a loved one. God forgive me but I was so happy to have my grandad pass away rather than being in there for any more time. Staff are stretched to their limits. Nursing home culture is so bad. RTE investigates are coming.

Previously deleted 3 times, Edit: Why not reiterate what the previous person has said, as I have also known an old couple who 'lived' there without proper treatment. Also to note the carers put on an act when visitors are there. To add they have taken down multiple bad reviews that make them look bad.

Lovely rural situated retirement village and elderly care home all in the same area. Independent living houses located close to the day service/care facility

The care, kindness and love shown to our mother while she was a resident at Castle Gardens by all the staff was exceptional. We feel so fortunate to have found such a wonderful place for our mother and cannot recommend it highly enough. The O'Neill Family
