A horrible place just a handful of genuine staff not the same since Eileen left my poor mammy lay in bed for a week before I discovered something wrong she had 2 broken hips and was operated on in waterford at the age of 90 she died 5th September and I got a bill for €168•30 for 5 days in bed not drinking or eating and no medication there a discrace and no-one was held responsible for mammys broken hips shame on them 😪😪😪
I’d give 1 star If I was able to. Majority of the staff are there for their own pay check and put on a show when visitors arrive in. When visitors are not present, they are so careless with the service users. It has been noticed that the night time staff disconnect the alarms that the service users have rights to, just so the staff can sleep on their job when their job requires them to stay awake for the night shift to ensure the service users are not in any danger. When confronted about the alarm being disconnected, the staff member stated that the resident must have disconnected the alarm. This is false accusations as the alarm set up, is far out of their reach to do so, this shows not owning up to their faults. This is wrong in so many ways, as far as CORU and HIQA go, there is absolutely no regulations that are being followed. When confronted about the lack of care for the residents there is absolutely no reassurance to be got, and they cannot even denie the facts as they know they do not care for the elderly as they should. This is an absolute disgrace as they would put on a show when inspections are being carried out by HIQA, and when visitors are with their loved ones. Everything is being covered up and I’ve had enough. Nursing homes charge a rediculous price to keep residents there as it is. On the website it states ‘Beachwood is committed to the provision of high standards of care, support and respect for the people who are residents in the home’, when the last thing they do is provide care and support or respect. It also states the home is a “24 hour care with independence in mind” as I have already stated, the night time nurses disconnect alarms when it is most vital. When the alarm was connected and the residents would ring nobody would come to help. This was told from one of the residents themselves. I will be going further with more complaints that have been added up (that I will not share to respect the resident and try give a bit of dignity), and how the management lacks any information and how they cannot answer when a question is being asked. Absolutely disgraceful and very unprofessional. Absolutely furious at the fact the residents have absolutely NO dignity left in this place!
This is a nursing home that delivers wonderful care to the elderly. Their ethos is professional nursing care and what makes them stand out is the love and compassion shown to their residents. My aunt resided there for many years and all her family could rest knowing she was in a home from home. Written by a retired nurse manager. Keep up the good work.
Very professionally run, extremely friendly and helpful staff... I was looking for somewhere safe and caring for my mother and I could not have found somewhere better.
Ģreat, friendly, warm nursing home. Staff very helpful and friendly. And so kind to all resident. Good activities for residents also, and a lovely ambience when entering the building.
